Are you ready to look and feel better as you lose weight, increase muscle mass, increase vitality, increase libido, increase arousal, and get rid of your depression?
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy ("BHRT") is common term for the treatment of conditions caused by the effects of hormone deficiencies resulting from menopause. BHRT uses hormones that are identical in their mollecular structure to the hormones produced naturally within the human body.
"BHRT" is also used more generally to describe the practice of using only bioidentical hormones in the treatment of all hormone deficiencies, not just menopause. These include perimenopause, which is the time of change leading into menopause, and andropause in men.
Hormones are chemicals that are produced within our bodies. They are responsible for each stage of our development and growth from infancy through puberty, reproduction, and old age. Hormones maintain the chemical balance within our bodies by controlling major functions including our metabolism, our immune system, our reproductive systems, our nervous system, and others.
Hormones are natural substances which function as messengers to stimulate cells to heal, reproduce and rejuvenate. During the aging process hormone production declines and in parallel the symptoms of aging and the risk for age related diseases rise.
The first hormone replacement supplements were developed in the 1930 to provide relief from the symptoms of menopause, including hot flashes, night sweats, weight gain, etc. These first hormone supplements were “bioidentical”. That is, their molecular structure is identical to the molecules created by our own bodies.
Bioidentical Hormones are hormone supplements that are plant-derived, primarily from soy and yam. These are also manufactured by pharmaceutical companies such as Upjohn, which has been manufacturing bioidentical hormone products for over 70 years. The bioidentical powders and other elements are then compounded into topical creams by “compounding” pharmacies, according to a doctor's prescription.
Creams are preferred because when bioidentical hormones are taken orally they go straight to the liver, which converts them into a different hormone. Therefore the preferred method of delivery for bioidentical hormones is in the form of creams or gels or sub-cutaneous suppositories, which are absorbed directly from the skin into the bloodstream.
My goal is to keep your hormones balanced with all the related benefits of optimal vitality and significantly decreasing the risks for age related diseases.
The first step would be a consultation and subsequent testing to determine the current hormone levels in your body.
